Our holiday villa in Almirida is located on the beautiful and friendly Greek island of CRETE. It is our home which we are happy to let out to discerning clients, who we hope will enjoy a quality holiday in the outstanding area of ALMIRIDA.
The property is located in the picturesque coastal seaside village of ALMIRIDA, near CHANIA on the North West side of Crete.
Almirida is a small pretty seaside resort with an impressive crescent shaped bay. There are many shops, cafe bars and tavernas around two beaches within a safe and sheltered bay.
The village caters for those seeking an escape from the larger full-on resorts, however, nearby Chania and Rethemyon have all the clubs and nightlife for those who prefer to rest most of the day and party at night.
The house is 400 metres from the Blue Flag beach of Almirida bay.
The house is adjacent to a small complex named Almirida Village apartments, these consist of 8 apartments, with a shared 80 sq m swimming pool. The pool is available for use by occupants of Almirida Corner House. There are Sun loungers and towels available for house guests.

The gardens and pool are in a quiet and tranquil area away from road noise and suchlike. If you prefer golden sand and the deep blue sea, then the beach is only a 2 minute walk. Access to the house is by a few steps, at the rear or front of the property The garden, pool and surrounding area, plus the walk to the beach and restaurants is flat and even, with no hills or steep gradients.
Almirida is 22 km East of Chania. It is a pretty little seaside village that has two gently shelving sandy beaches, fringed by waterside tavernas and a small fishing harbour with quiet rocky coves. The sea is beautifully clear, a marvellous mix of colours from deep aquamarine to a pastel turquoise.
A decade ago Almirida was a fishing village and a weekend watering hole for local Greeks. Times change of course, and Almirida has since grown into a small sophisticated resort with a number of villas, apartments and a few hotels, two of which are of a very high international standard, we can vouch ourselves for their quality.
Curiously enough, the Greeks still come at weekends, the fishermen still fish,
and the waterside tavernas have a laid back unhurried atmosphere, where
time is of no consequence and you can sit for hours lingering over a meal.
The village has several high quality tavernas; 3 or 4 Mini-Markets, as well
as a Bakers/Deli, an Internet Café, jewellery shops and a number of quite trendy and
sophisticated bars, a couple of which have access to global sport channels.
Mountain bikes can be hired locally. On the beach you can rent sun beds and
hire windsurfer boards and water sports equipment.
The rolling wooded countryside behind Almirida is probably the most beautiful in Crete, and is a walkers paradise, especially in April and May when spring flowers carpet the landscape in colourful abandon.
If you are looking for full-on club nightlife then Almirida is not the place to choose. However for a quiet relaxing holiday by the sea, with good food and drink, and a pleasant environment, it certainly takes some beating.
